self study AP Bio, book suggestions

Hey,

I'm planning to self study AP Bio (yea i know only 2 months left, but i'm really determined and have a good bit of free time). Is there any prep book (kaplan, pr, barrons etc) that will teach me the information or do I have to get a full fledged hardcover text book in order to learn the required information. Please respond quickly because I need to tell my guidance counselor to order the test. Thanks.

Cliffs AP Biology is good. But AP Biology is a huge course and has a LOT of information. Start studying as soon as possible!

thanks for the reply. actually, i am taking biology right now but it is not ap (its not offered in my school). There is a good bit of info that I will have to study myself but I am upto it. I will check out the cliffs book. Thanks.

yea im self studying too and am very behind!!

I am taking AP Biology right now. I can tell you that self-study will be one hell of a task. There are a lot of information. Review books are not enough. You actually have to read a Biology book to get down all the infos. Since you are taking regular Biology, my recommendation for you is that you know the anatomy and physiology of human body.

I like the book we use... Biology, seventh edition by Solomon, Berg and Martin. But it is a TON of information. You'd better start fast, and read several chapters a week. You'd also better be damned good at memorization and information retention.

Not true. Get your hands on Barrons, read it religiously, get ready for your 5 :)

wow if u seriously love bio then go ahead
