I want to self study AP chemistry in as little time as possible, and get a 5 on the AP exam for chemistry. I have 5 steps to a 5 500 questions, a 2014 ap chemistry prep book from some random author, an old chemistry book from barron's, and a recent cliffnotes edition. I have essentially no prior knowledge of chemistry (i haven't done chem in over a year). Any advice to self study in less than a month would be much appreciated! thanks :D

you have to own a textbook, i am also self studying and i have the zumdahl 8th edition. also, khan academy and sparknotes for essential chemistry. there’s a lot of links around the internet on ap chemistry with video lectures and notes.

The exam was redesigned last year, so you want to get rid of any books from before 2014. Some info in them will still be relevant, but the new exam is completely different and it would be inefficient to not use a new book. I took chem last year and got a 5. I used Bozeman science videos, which were incredibly good at reviewing the entire curriculum, and Khan academy, which was great for the more complex topics, like titrations and electrochem. I also have the official practice exam which was invaluable to my review. PM me your email and I can send a copy. The hardest part for you will probably be the FRQs, which focused a lot on labs which are done in class. Try to get all of the labs and understand how they are done. These materials were meant mostly for review, but they were the best things I could find other than a full-length textbook. Most of the review books are not very good with preparing you for the new curriculum (maybe 2015 editions will be, idk). If you care, you needed a 72% for a 5 on last year’s exam. Good luck.

if you do chem honors, will you get a 5? it shouldn’t take me more than a few months to get back my chem honors knowledge.

AP Chemistry covers similar topics as Honors Chem, but in greater depth. If you only take Honors Chem, you won’t be prepared for the AP exam. You would also need to do some studying on your own.
