Hey everyone,
Im a junior, whose already taken AP Calc AB as a soph (got a 5), and Ive begun to study seriously for the BC (no BC course at my school) . I was wondering, will taking a EPGY/CTY course be any help on the BC? I already have a good idea of how to do most of the stuff on the BC, and can probably get a decent score on the AP by self studying. But, will colleges think im slacking off if I self study for the AP and have no "written course" to back it up? Also, are the online courses of that much help, considering I already have a book, and a teacher I can ask questions of?

If you've been studying, understand the material and have someone you can go to for help, I don't see a need to take any formal course. I don't think colleges will see as slacking off - you're learning (and mastering) the material on your own. Does your guidance counselor know that you are doing this? It's something that should definately be included in a recommendation letter. Your calc teacher who you are going to for help may also be able to write a good recommendation about your dedication etc in self-studying the material.
