Self Studying Pre-Calculus?

So I went up to trig in high school and didn't take pre-calculus or calculus. Since I'm going to college next, would it be a good idea to self studying for pre calculus and calculus during the summer? What review books would you recommend to someone who has never seen the material before?

I would recommend going to your local community college and taking the courses there! It might be difficult self-studying pre-calc or calculus.

Depends what you are planning on signing up for in college. Also, you don’t need to know any pre-cal to do well in calculus if you did trig. All pre-cal does is talk very briefly about stuff you will see in calc like polar coordinates and vectors but not learning about them before you take calc will not hurt you.

I agree with jimmyboy in that you don’t need pre-calc if you did trig. Generally trig/analysis are taken in place of pre-calc. In Calc AB you won’t really do anything with polar coordinates or vectors, those tend to show up in BC. So, if you plan on taking AB, then you should be fine, if you want to go to BC then maybe just look up the basics of polar coordinates and vectors just to get an idea of what they are.
