Next year I'm going to be a junior and my school only offers Physics B, which I will be taking. However, I'm aware that colleges don't care much about Physics B as to Physics C. I know calculus, as well. With this in mind, would is it recommended that I self study Physics C?

EDIT:I will only be studying mechanics, as I have no interest in electricity. I enjoy mechanics as well.

I self studied mechanics this past year (as a junior), I was taking physics B, and calc BC at the same time, and I found that it was pretty simple to self study. Most of the concepts for physics C are covered in B (with the exception of rotational inertia, angular speed, and a couple of other minor things, but these concepts are all fairly simple and can be learned fairly easily from a prep book, I personally recommend pr or barrons.)

I took AP Physics B as a junior and got. a 5 and an 800 on the SAT. I then decided to self-study both mechanics and E&M for my senior year. I was scoring high 5s on practice tests, but I don’t think I did as well on the real exam - the free responses were awful this year for both exams. It’s very doable, especially if you’re only doing mechanics.

To study, I went through the AP Advantage prep book by Mooney very carefully. Then I did ten years’ worth of free responses (many of them I did twice with a few weeks in-between) and a few multiple choices. I felt prepared. The AP exams kicked my butt, but…that’s bad luck. We’ll see how the scores come out in a couple of weeks!
