Sending a deposit and then choosing another school?

I know this situation is going to sound stupid, but lets just say that it seemed like a good idea earlier.

So, as most know, housing is based on the time you send in your nonrefundable acceptance deposit. With this I somewhat panicked because I was only going to go to one of my schools (Ohio State) if I had the honors housing (for specific reasons). I thought that I would go to this school anyways so I caved in and sent in an acceptance deposit of $100. However, as the deadline draws closer I find that I might not be going to this school after all and would pay another acceptance deposit to another school.

Obviously, I would have wasted $100, however, that's not the main problem here. I'm just wondering if the school I sent in the deposit to (Ohio State) will have any problem with me not going even though I "accepted".

It’s very common - so many students do this that it has a name (“summer melt”).
Many students feel pressure to send in a deposit at their state school but not all enroll.
BTW, at most school, that deposit if refundable if you let them know before May 1.
