i got a 33 on ACT and a 2050 on SAT, and Im planning on submitting 2 subject tests from SAT.
however, my ACT score is considerably higher, can i send ACT with SAT2s without sending SAT1 even if the school im applying doesnt allow score choices?

I was wondering this same thing… but then I read on a college’s website that they only consider the test you scored higher on. If that’s the case, then I’ll probably just send both to make it less complicated.

Many people take the ACT and SAT II and never take the SATs. I don’t know the logistics, but I am certain there is a way to do it without it looking strange to the schools. I would encourage you to do that.

My S took the ACT and scored so well he didn’t take the SATI for his applications (took SAT IIs as he took the AP courses). He ended up taking the SATI to qualify for NMS finalist, but that was after he had already submitted the other scores (ACT and SATII only) to all his schools.

Please understand that in some parts of the country, taking the ACT instead of the SAT is “the norm.” To apply to schools with subject test requirements, then, those kids routinely submit ACT + SAT IIs.

No worries! Colleges expect you to compete with your best foot forward. They will not make any judgment about you on the sole basis you chose the ACT foot over the SAT foot!
