sending recommendations and transcripts

Are there any rules such as not folding these papers, not stapling them etc.?
I have folded and stapled the pages. Could that cause a problem?

Some schools tell applicants not to fold or staple. I don't recall Williams doing that last year (and my high school insisted on both folding and stapling, so what you gonna do?). I got in.

If you give each of your recommenders a stamped postcard addressed to you and indicating that Williams has received the recommendation from that person, Williams will pull it out of the envelope and return it to you. That was how we found out that one of my recommendations was missing - cards came back about all but one piece of the stuff that was supposed to be mailed to them. It turned out fine: a quick call from my guidance office, a fax, and a follow up paper copy, and I was set. Some other schools don't return cards and aren't so nice aout missing documents.

Good luck.
