I’m considering applying EA for NC State -college of engineering (computer science) and UNC Chapel Hill (not sure what major over there). I may as well apply for a third school and I’m considering either App State of UNCG.
You’d need to replace Quantitative Literacy which is a math class for people who can’t do math with a history/social science at the cc ( Economics, Anthropology, History, Government/Political Science, African American Studies, Women’s Studies.)
Then you’re 100% good with a very rigorous schedule.
@MYOS1634 really! I will ask a fellow student who also went to the cc to ask what is the toughest classes ! Do you think I will get in my listed schools ?
If that SAT gets to 1250 NCSU is a match to low match depending on what major you apply for.
What other schools are you applying for?
BTW one way you can strengthen your schedule if you want it to be really, really rigorous is to cut AP stats, take one social science instead in the fall (most rigorous one will be Philosophy), and take calculus1 at the cc instead in the spring + an easy social science (instead of quantitative literacy). Phikosophy and calculus would make that schedule super rigorous but you’d have to handle it because a D or F would mean being rescinded (if you think you can get a C or B you’re good). Then, starting freshman year, take Calculus 1 at NCSU, you’ll have seen some of the topics - it’ll be way more in-depth at NCSU but it’ll be easier to handle witbthat little cc preview.
I may just end up taking Calculus at the cc and possibly political science in Spring.
You need to have precalculus before calculus, it’s sequential.
WELL ****. I have only 3 aps, one of them being seminar… there goes my confidence.
@LolImANoob You only have 3 classes?
@jd1209 Three ap classes. The others are honors level
three APs senior year is enough. That is all my son has this year (his other 5 classes are honors). He does have 3 previous APs, and a 1350 (in state). He is not applying to engineering though.
I only have a 1160 (1180 superscored)
You need to prep and retake the SAT then. Plan to spend 30mn each day on Khan Academy and work systematically on what you get wrong (that means dozens of exercises of the same type you got wrong, till you get it right many times in a row).
I’m actually using UWorld it’s a great tool
