Senior Exemption Policies

I was just wondering what everyone’s senior exemption policies are, if you have them? My district technically has a standardized policy, but all the schools have their own variations on it, and even some teachers just make their own “fair” policies. Just wanted to see what different policies are like around the country.

are you talking about finals or something else?

@momtogirls2 yes, this is about finals.

At my school, seniors are exempt from any final, if they have a 90 cumulative average (except they are still required for ECE courses). If a student is taking a semester-long class, the midterm is technically the final, and thus, seniors can be exempt from it.

All students are exempt, regardless of their grade in the class, if they took the AP exam corresponding to that course

D’s HS exempted seniors from finals if they were taking an AP exam or if they had above an A- in a year long course.

I think my D’s Calc BC teacher gave each student in the class the option of taking the 4th quarter average as grade on the final, if desired.

All other classes were as normal.

Our seniors are exempt from finals with an 85 or above average in a class. For AP classes, they have to take the test, and it’s up to teachers if there is to be a final as well.
