Hey guys,
I was accepted to Caltech for engineering, and I slacked off during second semester of my senior year.
Consequently, I have a C in my AP Statistics class right now.
I have As for my other subjects.
Will Caltech rescind or punish me in any way for the C?
I doubt it, but don’t you have time to try to bring it up to a B before the term ends?
Just don’t fail any classes, keep a ~B average, avoid getting arrested for a federal crime, and you’ll be fine. Senioritis is great, especially when you don’t have to care about doing well on AP tests anymore (because they don’t matter if you commit!).
The teacher paced our first semester too quickly, so we only had 3 chapters for 2nd semester and we’ve taken the tests for them already.
No need to worry. My kid indicated that two years back, some of the students who got a D in HS in the final semester were sent a letter that they should be ready to work harder at Caltech (or something to that effect)
Think of the first half of your stats class as prep for Caltech, where most classes go at a breakneck speed. Hooray, you already have experienced what life could be here Now to clarify, when I said B average, I meant overall throughout all of your classes (i.e. don’t get all C’s).
