Does Vandy look at your quarter grades, or just the semester? What does it take to get your acceptance rescinded???

I would assume that it is only semester grades, but i think that it depends on the way your high school does it. For me, my school uses quarter grades as a way to let you know where you are half way through the semester.

What grades do you have to get second semester for Vanderbilt not to take back their offer? (for example i know that for UC schools, its a minimum of 3.0 gpa)

well, I don’t know. On one of their student-run blogs, the person said that they will get annoyed at you if you get C’s and D’s, and will send you a warning letter if your grades have dropped. It also depends on your courseload rigor. I have 6 AP classes and 1 Honors class this year, but I got 2 C’s last quarter. I’m pretty sure I can bring them up to A’s for my semester grade, so I really don’t know…

bump! can anybody else help me??

[This year, ‘senioritis’ may have dire consequences - USATODAY.com](http://www.usatoday.com/news/education/2009-05-06-senioritis-college_N.htm?csp=34)

Economic exacerbation

“The stakes have compounded exponentially this year because of the uncertainty we’re facing,” says Doug Christiansen, dean of admission at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

Though colleges have always reviewed the final academic records of incoming classes, this year they will scrutinize them more thoroughly, officials say. Admission departments will double-check for drops in grades, absenteeism and situations in which, for example, a student’s application said he was taking three advanced placement classes, but he later dropped two. They also will watch for red flags that arise from lapses in judgment or integrity, such as cheating, plagiarism, drinking or drug use.

I do not think quarter grades will matter. At the end of the semester, your counselor should send in the final transcript. Quarter grades do not even show up on most final transcripts. Even if they do in your case, it won’t matter if your semester grade is good.

Don’t spend any time worrying about it. Just concentrate on finishing up a tough semester.

wheww!!! i’m finishing up with 4 A’s and 2 B’s… what a relief… the teachers decided to cut us some slack 4th quarter because we’re seniors but came down on us so hard for 3rd quarter that I started freaking out…

Oh! thanks to Vandy13 for bringing this thread back! :)
