Senior: Is taking 3 Ap classes too little?

Taken from the University of California Pathways to Education, here is an info sheet explaining the importance of a rigorous high school schedule for admission:

Hope it helps!

Actually, UAKid is right. Schools have around 10,000-20,000 applications (top 50). They don’t have enough time to look through them except a glance to see if he passes the first round (GPA, SAT scores). Past that (most schools past the 50th barrier only look at GPA/SAT mostly), in Ivy Leagues after the first round, they check personality.

Adcoms don’t have enough time to look through the transcript other then just seeing if he is doing alright, and is using good difficult classes in relation to his school. Other then that, GPA/SAT is pretty useless.

That is coming from an MIT adcom (that GPA/SAT are only first round).
