Senior Thesis or Double Major?

Alright, basically what it comes down to is that I can do one of 2 things. [Background–Junior Cell Molecular Biology major, wants to go to graduate school for MS in Microbiology, previous research experience=summer internship on one project (microbiology/immunology), all sophomore year on another (physiology); transferred schools since then so any research would be new.]

Senior thesis. Assuming I can get into a lab, I would only have senior year to work on a senior thesis. I’m wondering if I’d really have much to say in my personal statement, since I won’t have much accomplished at that point.

Assuming I get a research internship this summer, do you think I’d have enough research experience to get into a MS program? (GPA and good letters of rec no problem, just worried about the lack of continuity in research.) I’d really rather get the double major (I love languages) and take the year off research.

Talk to your advisor. I'd generally recommend doing the thesis for admission purposes, but if you have a lot of research already...This is kind of your last chance to study something unrelated that you love. But as we can't evaluate your research, ask your advisor if what you have is sufficient.
