I am going to be a senior this year and I will have 4 classes (all ap) and 2 periods off. I am number 1 in my class and took 6 ap's last year and the number of ap classes at my school is limited. How will Ivy League Universities react to the 4 classes? Will they view me as a slacker?

Perhaps? It depends on what you are really intending with those two free periods.

Did you take all the APs offered? If you did, then no. They won’t consider you a slacker. Colleges get a school profile from your HS sent to them which explains the rigor of the course load and the courses offered. Also, your guidance counselor marks off on your recommendation letter whether or not you took challenging courses or not. At this point, does it matter? 4 classes is still an impressive number. Even so, you can’t change anything at this point. Focus on your essays for now. :)

n0vad3m0n speaks the truth.

All AP classes won’t make you a slacker. Rather, the colleges will see that since you already have a great record (number 1) you are choosing to spend your extra (albeit, limited) time on college apps and EC’s
