Senior year with no math or science?

I think it depends on what you’re doing at that internship, and what kind of local paper we’re talking about. If you’re going to come away from this with bylines in the Miami Herald, that’s one thing. If you’re going to be touching up ribbon-cutting photos at the Podunk Weekly Advertiser, that’s something else. The question is, is this really an educational experience equivalent to several honors courses, which sounds like the alternative to the internship? If it is, in your judgment, then go for it, and don’t worry what colleges will think. But if it isn’t, then think hard about why you’re doing it.

The paper I’m doing internship at is the equivalent to Miami Herald at my city.
Would it be too blatant to ask my CS about it? What is a good way to ask?
The rest of my app I emphasized my writing ability. However I don’t know what the adcoms might make of my schedule if I write a good explanation to them. There are many situations on CC where the students seemed to exhaust all what they could in their situation, but given this competitiveness of the process, they were eventually denied.

Big difference between what kids write in CC- the what? 20 or 40 kids who (seem to) knock your socks off- versus the rest of the real world.

Note that many of those impressive kids on CC are STEM. And, all we see are the stats and activities- not the rest. Yes, you need to speak with the GC- for input. Then, make your best decision.
