Separate my college list into low/medium/high reach, match, or safety (I will chance back)

Not sure about all of these schools (particularly the small, liberal arts ones) but here’s what I think:

-Hamilton - Match
-UVA - Match
-UCB - High match
-WUSTL - High match
-Northwestern - High match
-Pomona - High match
-Amherst - High match
-Brown(ED) - High match/Low reach
-Cornell - Low reach
-Harvard - Reach

Brown (ED)- Mid/Low reach
-Harvard (Legacy through my mom)- reach (if you go SCEA i think the boost fro legacies is a lot)
-Pomona (ED II if I don’t get accepted to Brown)
-UCB (In State)- High match/low reach
-Northwestern- High match/ low reach
-WUSTL- High match/ Low reach
-UVA- match
-Amherst- mid match
-Bowdoin- mid match
-UW- safety
-Kenyon- match
-Cornell- low reach
-Hamilton- match

I don’t know a ton about the liberal arts ones but I think if you write good essays about free running because you seem very into it and it is unique I think you have a good shot.

Amherst, Bowdoin, Brown, Pomona are reaches for anyone. Cornell may be a reach, dependent on college applying to; it’s a least a low reach. Hamilton will be a low reach unless showing demonstrated interest, interviewing etc as fit is very important; and to a lesser extent Kenyon will be the same. WUSTL, and Northwestern is very data driven so it’s also a reach dependent upon college applied to.

@Chembiodad for WUSTL, I plan to apply to the CAS. Do you know how competitive that college is compared to the others at WUSTL?

Safeties: UW
Matches: Kenyon and Hamilton
Reaches: Everything else

Maybe you can cut down on reaches and add some safeties!

Could you guys chance me on this thread for both Harvard EA and Brown ED (because I’ve heard that legacy is taken much more into account in the EA cycle at Harvard). Thanks!

Brown (ED)- mid reach
Harvard (Legacy through my mom)- low/mid reach (but since it’s ED will prob help you out)
Pomona (ED II if I don’t get accepted to Brown)- match
UCB (In State)- match/low reach
Northwestern- low reach
WUSTL- low reach
UVA- match
Amherst- match
Bowdoin- not familiar
UW- match/low reach (OOS is hard to tell)
Kenyon- not familiar
Cornell- low reach/match
Hamilton

Update on Brown

I am meeting my regional AdCom this month and plan to introduce myself in a memorable way. Will this help during the ED round?

@ap012199 - good luck with your meeting this month. Make sure the memorable way is positive and not negative!

After reading your list of schools, I was curious about how/ why Bowdin was on there? I was under the impression that they didn’t have Creative Writing.

@toomanykiddos after further consideration, I have removed Bowdoin and some other schools from my list. My current (and most likely final) list is:

Brown (ED)
Harvard
Tufts
Pomona
Northeastern
Northwestern
Berkeley
Bard
Williams
WUSTL
UCSD
