My husband moved out of the house in June 2009 because he was unhappy and was not sure if he wanted to continue our marriage. He has been living with a family member with no expenses for the past 6+months. Our marriage is still up in the air. We just started couples therapy to see if we can work things out. He has not changed his address on any documents and still comes to the house regularly to spend time with me and the kids. We will file married/jointly for 2009. I work part time. He has continued to pay for groceries and deposits money into our joint checking acct to pay household bills/mortgage. Right now I don't know what the future will bring. This poses the dilemma of how to file the FAFSA. I certainly don't want there to be a delay due to incorrect info.
pdmomof2 is online now

I found this on the FAFSA website:

If you choose to file as separated, all direct payments to you from your H should be reported as untaxed income.

Run your tax numbers separately and together. Run your FAFSA together and separately and decide which one works best for you both.
