No idea how I bombed the science section, but I am happy that it didn’t bring my composite below a 32. I thought the reading was the hardest. Either way, I am ecstatic with my scores! :)

I’m literally so excited, but if I had gotten my English up one I would have gotten a 33 : /

Can anyone predict the Science curve?

@johnkim614… this is not correct… the reading is out of 40 questions so u don’t know how many u missed.

If anyone has any success stories, tips, or help on how I can raise my math score, I would be extremely greatful. It is obviously by far my worst part of the test, and it brings my grade down a lot. Any help is appreciated.

no scores for me here in Southern California

a bit bummed about science, but whatever :/

@reedsb This is really helpful. It’s a cumulative review of every math topic that can be found on the ACT. It also has explanations for each question on the math practice tests in the 3rd edition red book.

I don’t know if I can wait four more days.

I don’t think I can, either.

I blew it on science. I thought I nailed science, even though I blanked out after the 2nd section for 5 minutes because of a fever or something (wasn’t feeling well). I probably won’t retest unless I have free time towards the end of the year; I’m not a complete nerd lol.

I never got above a 33 in English on practice tests, but I also never got below a 35 in science, so I don’t know how I feel lol. Great score, but a bit sad that I blew it when I was so close on my first exam.

@CatSandwich Thank you, very much! I will check it out.

33 C

Reading has always been my downfall…I would’ve liked to get a 30 in the reading, because my super score would be a 34, but oh well! Do you guys this score will be high enough for some of the top colleges like MIT and Caltech? I know they have holistic admissions, but given that I don’t have research experience or crazy outstanding accomplishments in science projects, etc., I feel as though being at the bottom of the averages won’t serve me well.

reedsb: For the math, just make sure you have your stuff memorized, like the sides for 30 60 90 & 45 45 90 triangles, the quadratic formula, midpoint formula, area of trapezoid, the sum of angles in a polygon with n sides (n-2)180, central and inscribed angles in a circle. I think knowing those well makes the math section a lot easier, and enables you to work at a much faster pace. I got a 32 in the math. If you have tips for the reading comprehension (congrats on the 33!) please let me know, because I got a measly 26 on that.

Thought I had a 34 on English. English curve was extemely harsh. Pretty sure I missed only 3. Math was a little harsher than I thought. Missed around 5. Thought I was gonna get a 33. Reading curve was way harsher than the June ACT. I thought I missed 5-6 for reading. Science is a good curve as far as I could tell. I know I missed only one on science.

My predicted curve:
English 33 (-2)
Math 33 (-4)
Reading 33 (-3)
Science 33 (-4)

Good luck to everyone else.
