So I move in on Thursday (into Easton), and I ordered a rug from rhcarpets (the UMD approved vendor), but I found out that the rig isn’t already unrolled and setup for me.
My question is, how am I supposed to unroll the rug in the room when there are two beds, two desks, and two dressers already present in the room? Normally, when you put down a rug, you do it without any furniture in the room, so does anyone know how I’m supposed to set up the rug?
If your room is set up with one person’s furniture on one side and the roommate’s on the other, place the rolled-up rug in the middle between the sides. You’ll have to unroll one side at a time, moving the furniture out of the way as needed. My parents (at different school) had to get creative with furniture placement. Stuff out in the hallway, on the other side of the room, and even continuously hoisted in the air while other family members unrolled the carpet.
This happened to my D last year. Her roommates Dad and I had to basically lift the beds and one of the desks to get the rug down. It was definitely a pain. This year, we got the same ad. It stated that the rug would be delivered. Nothing about being unrolled and installed. We bought a smaller rug at Target for move-in.
