Does W&M accept january SAT score?
Also, does W&M look at 9th grade grades?

I believe the answer to both of those is yes. I also think they take into consideration improvement of grades and external circumstances that could have resulted in lower grades if they are told about them.

^ wow really? Can I be the person to tell them about those circumstances?
Thanks!!!

Yeah, I’ve heard of people sending separate letters, and others talk about them in their essays. I’m not sure which they prefer. Hopefully the W&M Admissions person who looks on here will see this soon, or perhaps someone else knows. A call to the admissions office to ask couldn’t hurt, I don’t think.

you can definitely use an essay to explain things… probably you can also send another letter.

In order to meet the application deadline you would need to submit an SAT or ACT by Jan. 1. In the application you can note that you are taking a Jan. test and W&M will be on the lookout for those scores.

W&M considers the entire transcript. If your 9th grade grades need explaining it’s best to upload that information in the additional information part of the application and to have your counselor speak to it if he/she can.

Good luck.
