Which Ivy has the hottest girls, best social life, best campus environment, etc. Basically, apart from academics (since all ivies are good for that), which one wins on the "other" stuff, because I'm pretty sure every guy/girl wants to go to a college with an aesthetically-pleasing student body (we all have hormones, right?).

Just to let you guys know, a "certain source" ranked the hotness of the girls/guys at the ivies as follows: (Girls Rating/Guys Rating)

-Feel free to affirm/refute the above claims. Those of you currently at these ivies, SHARE your knowledge. These are important factors in picking a college :). Talk about social/campus life too.

SPREAD WORD OF THIS THREAD ACROSS THE OTHER IVY BOARDS b/c I'm only allowed to post it in one within the terms of service.

yea but still...most people who are in ivies probably would have applied to and visited other ivies during high school...they should know which ones have hot girls and which ones dont

Haha...what do you want us to say? No one should be giving much thought to such a study, where it's based on only a few student filled responses.

OK Southernazn, sorry to rain on your fantasies but . . .

Assume that physical "hotness" can be considered to be a combination of any or all of three factors - the genetic features one inherits, the condition in which one keeps his or her body, and the amount of attention one devotes to adornment. You decide to what extent each of these are relevant to your definition of hotness.

In populations of this size, inherent genetic characteristics are pretty much going to mirror the general population, unless there's some bias present to skew the sample. Is a sample drawn exclusively from high achievers likely to have different genetically-based physical features from the larger population? Despite stereotypes about beautiful females being ditzy or brainy women being plain (neither of which is true), it appears to me that Ivy League students look pretty much like students everywhere else.

However, as well-informed and self-disciplined young people, they seem to be in better shape than students at many other campuses. At Harvard where one of my kids is a student, I've noticed that obesity is extremely rare. Maybe their population naturally tends to keep themselves more fit or maybe they intentionally or unintentionally screen out obese applicants in the interview process. I think you'd find much the same at other Ivies.

As far as adornment - dressing provocatively, giving abundant attention to hairstyle, makeup, etc. - it seems to me that at Harvard, that's relatively low on the priority list. Again, I think you'd find much the same at other Ivies.

So, the looks of the students at each of the Ivies will be quite similar. They'll look about as good as the rest of the population. If you place a high priority on fitness, you'll likely be impressed. If you place a high priority on primping and preening, you likely won't. Not a very enticing response, but I'm pretty sure it's accurate.
