"International relations professors nationwide recently gave the School of Foreign Service a shining report card, in a survey that ranked Georgetown as one of the top schools for international relations at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

In a biennial survey conducted by researchers at the College of William and Mary, Georgetown ranked first for master’s degree programs in international relations, moving up from second place in 2005, the year the survey was last released. The university ranked 13th in Ph.D. programs in international relations, moving up one spot from 2005, and its undergraduate program placed fourth, behind Harvard, Princeton and Stanford. Columbia and Yale occupied the fifth and sixth spots.

The survey asked 1,112 professors of international relations to name the five best universities for both undergraduate- and graduate-level programs. Johns Hopkins University was ranked second for best master’s degree programs, with Harvard University, Tufts University and Columbia University rounding out the top five..."

me too, i thought they had a better Undergrad program then Graduate..hmm...
Do you have the actual undergrad top 10 ? It's like the ****ing loch ness of CC !! lol

Yeah, I don't know about this ranking -- how can both JHU and Tufts be so low on the undergrad rankings -- I find it a concern.

Anyway, I was an SFSer that transferred to Tufts. I find both programs fantastic. (And for what it's worth, I met Lola in person at the accepted student day at SFS way back in 2003.... she picked Tufts. Just to say that you shouldn't assume people who go to Tufts are SFS rejects.)

Oh, and Harvard doesn't even have an international relations major. That doesn't strike you as strange, either?

I also can't find information on an undergrad IR program website at Princeton. I don't know about the Woodrow Wilson school -- is that just grad?

I think the high rankings for Harvard and Princeton are a reflection of the overall ranking of those schools. In other words, if you go to one of those schools you will be likely to get in to a top-notch graduate school in IR.
Remember that the survey is being asked of professors, so they are likely to be somewhat removed when it comes to the quality of undergraduate programs outside of the school where they happen to teach, where as they probably are much more knowledgable graduate schools.

If your so content at tufts, why do you spend all day roaming the Georgetown threads, someone wishes they hadnt transferred I guess...just kidding
