I continue to log spare paper money into www.wheresgeorge.com even though not one of the bills I've entered has gotten a "hit" in almost a year since I started.

But, hey, at least I'm grateful for not counting among my quirks the oddball need to go back to post #69 and rule it out-of-line and officially unquirky. Whew! :)

" I make elaborate plans in my head and never follow through with them. I've made hundreds of goals, plans, etc and havn't done jack. I'm more of a thinker than a doer I guess. "

I do that too....
I also like charts a lot... they help me study & organize myself. IE if i'm about to study using an AP book or something, i go through the whole book and make progress charts that include stuff like section, chapter, theme; read/score/reviewed....

"I like to assign pet names to some of the elements on the periodic table. Sodium, for example, is Fluffy and Pb is Mario. Some of the names don't really have anything to do with the nature of the element but more to do with the arrangement of the letters." <--That's awesome!

"I make sure all the doors are locked and closed before I go to sleep." Same here. I have two doors in front of my bed (closet and bathroom) and they must be closed at all times.

I used to love turbulences when I was little, but each year I find myself getting increasingly phobic of them.

Alarms do me no good. I'm too much of a zombie to wake up from them, especially when I'm on 3 hours of sleep a night towards the end of the week. My alarm is a cheap little thing that's battery-powered, and it's always right on my night stand. It's happened three times at least that my alarm's gone off, and I'll get up to turn it off, and I'll look everywhere, drawers, shelves, high and low for it, and not find anything. I've gone so far as to disconnect everything powered by my extension chord to turn off that bloody little bugger of an alarm. For some reason I'll do all that even though my alarm is right on my night stand, like it always is. And I'll be able to do all that, with the lights on, and not wake up. Thank goodness my alarm automatically shuts off after 1 minute--though not really, because once it stops I go back to bed. I don't know what I'll do in college (besides apologize profusely to my roommate...).

I am incredibly forgetful. Like I'll be told to do something then forget it immediately. At the same time, I remember random stuff from years and years ago.
I do that too. I hate it, especially when I suddenly remember an incredibly embarassing moment.

Indeed. During commercial breaks on TV, I often forget what show I watching about 2 minutes prior. However, I do remember, random, useless things, like

(1/π) = [(2√2)/(9801)]{(Σ*k=0, ∞) ((4k)]/[((*k!)^4)(396^(4k))]}.

I think I might have a problem. :D

I feed off of dreams. If I don't have dreams for a long enough time I'll begin to get depressed.
My dreams are like movies or fiction novels. Most of the time they are coherent and have plots and characters and whatnot. They may not make sense when I think about them in retrospect, but during the dream they seem perfectly right. I only really remember the emotional ones though. I have somewhat of a photographic memory, so I could probably dictate the exact specifics of a scene from one of my dreams if the emotion is still fresh in my mind.

I have a habit of counting my fingers often. I think, subconsiously, I'm afraid I might lose one of them or something.
I do that with toes whenever I swim.

I don't count my fingers, but I do something similar. I assign each finger a musical note and I "play" songs on my fingers by tapping each finger with my thumb to "play" a note.

??? When do they teach people this in math??????

even though im way past the coin collection stage, i absolutely must finish my state quarters collection (not complete until 2010!)

i often time enact complete and perfect conversations in my head, can think up all sorts of witty things, rhyme, rap, invent, whatever, but when it comes time to actually speak to other people i lose all my profundity.

i wear almost strictly t-shirt/pajama pants/sandals.

Same. /* jakds;flja;kdsf */

I cuss more than virtually anyone I know. Always a delightful trait.

I try to smell my breath alot.

Same.

I do that too.

20 minutes or sometimes more after i need a funny/witty/humerous/scathing remark/comeback, ill come up with a PERFECT one and hope to God that the situation arises again, cuz now im prepared

i do all of my english/history essays the morning theyre due (wake up at 5 or so)

if on my car radio the volume isnt in a multiple of 5 (i.e. VOL - 19) i have to change it so that its in a multiple of 5

I'll block off a whole Sunday to write an English essay, but won't start actually writing till 10PM and won't get much together till midnight. I finish at maybe 2ish if I'm lucky.

Oooooh. I laugh at my own jokes. Alot.

Also, not really a quirk, but I get insanely manic ideas at about midnight. I write essays, short stories in my head then, but I never think to write them down. Last summer I probably "wrote" five or six college essays in my head.

Same.

Because lots of us have the same "quirks" are they really quirks, or are we all strange?

I used to think that I would die right before anything fun like my birthday or Christmas happened.

Yes, I have similar quirks to everyone here. I have a particular way I wash myself in the shower, similar to the OP, and I also imagined little men sitting in the shower who turned hot or cold water on, similar to the little men mentioned in TV sets here. I also think up essays in my head at night. Poems, too. One time I actually wrote one down!

Heh.
