She's In!!!!!

Yeah, take note: the Princeton Review stats for some schools, like Whitman, are out of date. The old SAT scores avg. at ~1330, as opposed to the low 1200s that are on PR.com. The acceptance rates are also out of date...I think last year as ~60% ED acceptance.

According to the Whitman viewbook (2005), the median SAT range is 1230 to 1140. Obviously, that is a very large range and seems to indicate Whitman's ideology of not putting too much weight on SAT scores. Acceptance rate is 47%.

Do you mean 1230-1440? In USNews they're at 1260-1440 for last year, and the median score on their website for the class of 09 is 1330. But from what I can tell I agree that they probably dont weight SATs as high a lot of schools.

At my son's interview, the interviewer seemed to indicate that a gpa of 3.7+ was sort of important. He didn't ask about scores at all. He seemed mostly interested in son's activities and how they might apply to college life at Whitman - very down to earth, friendly interviewer.

I applied ED II. I dont plan on getting in, as I had a bad sophomore year that left my GPA at 3.25. My grade trend has been very good, and I have 3 years on ASB and a lot of community service, but I don't know if that will quite make up for a lackluster GPA. Maybe I'll get lucky, but I've gotten into some great schools though, so I would be fine either way.

My interview was a lot like that. Great interviewer, very laid back (I was still really nervous). It seemed as if the interview was to convince me to attend. Really emphasized the importance how my activities would fit into campus life.

russdelabuss, that was a typo. :) My interviewier was nice as well - not that the interview went well, or anything. Didn't feel like I shared my passions enough. I think I provided very 'dull' answers. Bleh.

Timb, good luck! Do you any chance take a math class at Newport?

god, i just applied to whitman and I sound a lot like sweetkidsmom's kid...uhoh

thewholeperson, aren't you looking at santa clara too? we have very similiar stats (low gpa, high sat, good ec's). i got into scu but i dont know about whitman even though i applied ed.

Yeah, I'm applying rd to scu, compared to whitman, i'd rather not go though, my boyfriend goes there and it's pretty local for me
