<p>Lately, stats have been compiled showing that women make up approximately 54% of the college applicant pool, and are 60% of the average graduating class. In many colleges seeking a 50-50 balance, this means that men get a slight edge.</p>
<p>My question regards whether this trend has started to show itself in medical school admissions...or whether it's coming.</p>
<p>I'm simply curious, because on one hand you hear that medicine is still very much a male-dominated profession, but since women are outperforming men academically, I wonder: will we start to see a change?</p>
