Did anyone here take a Shmoop course and found it resourceful & helping in terms of getting good results on the AP Eng Lang Comp test or the AP Eng Lit test?? Please tell me if it is a good idea for me to use the practice questions on Shmoop; I want to know how germane Shmoop's questions are to the real test compared to other questions like PR's. Thanx :)

Since I have a similar question, I’m resurrecting this thread.

How does a Shmoop prep course compare to a prep book?

I received all Schmoop courses/passes for free from an offer from my school.
Review: AP Biology 2013 (revamped course)
Can’t really blame Schmoop (well, yes you can), because even Princeton Review screwed this one up pretty badly. The 5 practice tests seem appealing, but do not reflect the new changes. The tests are still memorization heavy and test you on unnecessary material such as the 9 animal phyla.

Review: AP Calculus AB
Course/review outline is somewhat flawed. They kind of put AB and BC into one course with BC topics noted by “(BC ONLY).” However, some BC topics are not labeled, which may mislead students to think they are tested on the AP exam.
Example- Hyperbolic trig functions, arc lengths, Euler’s method (I’m not sure if they’re on BC, but for sure they’re not on AB). If they forgot to label something useful such as L’Hopital’s rule, it’s fine since it actually helps, but making students study arc length and especially hyperbolic trig functions is inexcusable.

The good thing about Schmoop is that they have a lot of practice questions and drills, totaling up to a high number of questions.

I hate the Shmoop. The “cute/funny” tone is patronizing and distracting.
