I just reread my Why Northwestern essay and realized it was REALLY short. I spent last summer at NU, so I was able to cite specific details about the school to which I applied, but I still wound up with only 266 words. From the posts on this site, it seems like most people aimed for 500 words. By making mine so short, did I obliterate my chances?

No, not most likely didnt hurt your chances. As long as you had some effect and some type of self reflection you should be fine.

Thanks. I hope you’re right. The suspense is killing me.

I think the bigger worry would be having it end up too long.
