<p>Try again. But not during junior year. Do it in senior year. Your reading will almost definitely improve and that's fortunately the aspect that you can improve the most on.</p>
<p>I got 1540 my sophomore year on the old SAT. M 780, V 760. Didn't touch SAT books again until the night before the January 28th new SAT almost 2 years later, reviewed what the new math for an hour and walked in cold into the new SAT.</p>
<p>CR 800, M 760 (Alright, not that great due to stupid mistakes, especially after completing AP Calc BC last year, but if you mix and match, it comes out to be okay although I wish I wasn't stupid - messing up grade 10 math - shame), W: 770 (opposed to 730 on SAT II Writing in my sophomore year)</p>
<p>So moved from 2270 to 2350, with no effort whatsoever except doing what I did in school. So go for it :) You have nothing to lose.</p>
<p>That being said, I don't think it will make a difference to my admission decisions, but what little bit it helps, it helps.</p>
