Should I bother retaking the SAT IIs?

I got a 700 on both the Chem and Lit SAT IIs. Not mind-blowing or, heck, even great. But from what I’ve gathered online, they aren’t even that important.

The idea of having them over my head through January (I think I might be moving my November SAT retake to December, because I need more time to prepare and want to score higher than my previous 1500), makes me feel a little sick, but I’ll do what I have to do to make myself more competitive. I’m willing to sacrifice the time and energy and one Saturday morning if it’s going to help, but if it’s not going to mean much I don’t want to bother.

Not to mention, taking them in January means Cornell wouldn’t even see them, leaving only the uber reach schools to get them. Unfortunately, those also seem to be the only ones who would care (insert exasperated sigh here).
What should I do?

Above 700 is considered fine even for the competitive schools. Will these scores help you-no but will they hurt your application-most likely no. There is so much going on for you right now with apps, regular homework, and taking a regular SAT I think just letting these scores stand is a good idea.

agreed, 700+ = send. unless you’re applying to caltech or something, it’s definitely fine.
