Should I Bother with AP Bio?

Hey there, currently a senior taking two AP classes — Lit and Bio. I’ve already purchased my AP Lit test because I’ve had no intention taking the Bio test since I do not understand the material at all. I have a B in the class currently and have always had a good grade, but I do so poorly on the quizzes, I don’t want to waste my money on the AP exam when I know I’ll probably do terrible anyway! The only thing that is making me hesitant to give up is that my teacher mentioned that those who aren’t taking the exam will have to take a scantron test and an essay for the final semester grade. Those who DO end up taking the test will only have to write an essay, and I’m petrified that I’ll end up flunking both the scantron and essay portion. I know the AP exam isn’t graded and won’t interfere with college acceptances, but I’m just afraid I’ll end up hurting my grade even more if I don’t take the AP exam.

(P.S. I’m able to get a price reduction on the tests, so instead of $94, it’ll be $40.)

If you’re afraid of ruining your grade with the final exam, just take the AP exam. However, if you are not able to afford the AP test, talk to your teacher and try to explain the situation. Usually, schools are pretty understanding about financial situations. Good Luck!
