I’m a little stuck, and its not because I’m a lousy student, just an average one. Lord knows I have no savings, and it’s unlikely I’ll get any scholarships with a 91 average. I never win anything at my regional science fairs, and the best I can hope for out of loans are maybe half of my expected tuition. Should I just head right into the workplace? Honestly I don’t think post secondary is worth the hassle at this point.
What is your SAT/ACT score?
What can your family afford?
What about your state school?
What do you want to do for a living?
What would you major in?
I live in Canada, so I don’t have to take the SAT. My family unfortunately can’t spare anything, so I’m pretty much on my own with paying tuition. I was really only looking at schools in my province anyway, and they all cost about the same. If possible, I’d like to major in music while preparing to take the MCAT. I may want to do architecture instead though, since I have a decent portfolio, but trumpet performance is what I’m good at, and I figure I’ll have better prospects with something I’m far more familiar with. As for making a living, it doesn’t really matter much to me. Having an MD would be nice, but I’d be just as happy doing a lot of things.
