I want to buy a new laptop which is light-weighted, fast and thin. So I presume Air might be really suitable. However, I worry that Mac's compatibility problem and I am afraid that Air might perform not as good as Pro.

I heard that Acer's ultrabooks are also great? Is there any other recommended laptop?

What do you guys suggest??
Opinions are really appreciated!! Thanks.

You can put windows on your mac using Parallels or Bootcamp so compatibility isn’t an issue, the Air should be able to run most anything you need just fine.

The best Windows alternative to the Air imo is the Asus Zenbook however I don’t think Asus has released an updated Haswell version yet.

If you want a Mac, get a Mac, but speaking from experience running windows from bootcamp isn’t the same, especially if you’re running heavy duty software.

Asus and Lenovo have good reputations, if you’re looking for good brands. If all you’re going to be doing is basic things like Internet browsing, watching videos, and word processing, any computer will suit you fine.
