Should I Cancel My SAT II Scores?

I took two SAT II Subject Tests this weekend: Math II and Chemistry, and I'm wondering if I should cancel my scores.

The past month has been awful at school. My grades are slipping, and I decided that it would be better to raise my grades than to study for SAT IIs. The test date came around, and I thought I would just go take it to see how it was and then really focus and study for the December one.

Then, on Friday, I caught a cold. I went to bed early and tried to rest, but I was exhausted when I woke up on Saturday morning. I was debating whether I should take it or just stay home, but I decided to go anyways.

So, I went, and it was horrible. On Math II, I only answered 34 out of 50 questions. On Chemistry, I was too tired to count, but I think it was around 40 out of 85 questions. My eyes were all puffy, and it was hard to focus on the words (and numbers). I had a headache, and my nose would not stop running.

I was already planning on taking it again in December, but I don't know if I should cancel these scores. I was not planning on doing this badly. Does it look better to have a low score, but do better the second time? Or is it better to have only one good score?

And if I cancel, will colleges see that I canceled? Like, will it say November 2010 - Canceled score?

I don't know what to do. Any advice is appreciated. And please answer quickly; I'd have to cancel my scores by Wednesday.

colleges wont know that you canceled
im guessing that colleges would like to see one good score rather than one good and one bad

Cancel your scores. I cancelled mine in October since I knew that I wouldn’t be satisfied with them. Honestly, if you know you didn’t do well and if you’re already signed up for December, I see no reason not to. It would be a waste of money, but for the schools that don’t use score choice, you might regret keeping those bad scores when you submit your application. No college will ever know you even took the November test.

Just BE SURE you study for December, and start now. As in, now now. After I cancelled, I stalled studying for a week or two and looking back I really could’ve made those weeks productive.

Thank you very much for the advice! I have the cancel form ready to go, and I’ll send it tomorrow.

To neekzg, I have started studying! Haha, I bought two SAT books on the way home yesterday, and I just read one chapter today.
