Two schools(Wentworth Institute of Technology and Suffolk University) I’ve been accepted to have been showering me with encouraging letter and garantees of gifts.
Wentworth even went so far as to offer me a Ipod raffle if I deposit sooner. And Suffolk has been sending me nice letters everyday… those letter do not say much but they say that “Suffolk is a great university” and other propoganda.
Is it worth depositing to these schools because they’ve been so nice to send me letters everyday?
PS. UMass-Boston hasn’t sent me much letter or garantees of gifts…

No. Only deposit to the school you'll be attending.

Yeah I'm actually kinda undecided on where to attend. The three schools I've been accepted to are kind of equal. Wentworth, Umass boston, suffolk.

know which is better? in engineering?

Only make a deposit to the school you intend on going to. My sons schools states that once you send your deposit then you need to withdraw from all other schools. They only have one deposit for admission. Some schools have a housing deposit which is different (doesn't commit you to attending & is usually refunded if you don't decide to attend if notified by May 1) than an admissions deposit. Always make sure you find this out before you do anything because all schools are different.

Damn... If I get accepted to the schools I've been waitlisted to, could I withdraw my deposit from my safety school?

Because if I don't deposit, I risk not having anywhere to go next September..

Zerox, you need to send in a deposit to your top choice school that you have been accepted at. And you have until May 1st usually. If you get accepted to a school that you are presently waitlisted at, you will probably not find out until June or even July, in which case you will forfeit your other deposit.
Make sure that you do send a deposit though....waitlists are sometimes a long shot. But you are not expected to withdraw from a waitlisted school if you send in a deposit to your safety.

And would it be possible to get my deposit money back if I get off the wait list?

Also how would I notify my school that I would not be attending it after depositing? By writing or calling? Also how should I write/type the letter?

Its just my safety college have been really making an effort to make sure I attend them(calling me, sending me letters, sending gifts...). Just feel bad to let them down after depositing.

You won't be letting them down if you don't attend when and if you get off of a wait list. However, I seriously doubt that you'd get your deposit money back since you won't hear from that other school until after the May 1st deadline, and even before that date, it really depends on the school's policies on whether or not they'll refund your deposit if you change your mind about attending after depositing before May 1st. For example, Michigan State's policies allowed me to deposit (since they wanted it within a month after acceptance even though they were not an ED school) before the May 1st deadline and get my money back when I officially decided that I would not be attending after I got accepted into the University of Michigan. However, in U of M's admit package, they specifically stated that deposit money would not be refunded so they encouraged us to wait until we heard from all of the colleges before making a decision (BTW, even though U of M gave me free stuff, sent letters, called me, etc., I did not deposit to them until I heard from my last school. Don't deposit just because a school is being nice to you. Deposit because you're planning on attending next fall).

Thanks for the help.

Northeastern said they'll send me their decision by June 1 and Mass. College of Pharmacy said by May 15.

Should I call them up like before May 1 to check my status?

And does anyone know out of those three schools I've been accepted at(WIT, Umass-Boston, Suffolk), which one is ranked the best and more prestigious?

Thanks
