Should I do the National College Math or Regular Decision?

I'm not an outstanding student, but a good one. My SAT is only 1990 and ACT is 29, but I'm going to retake both this fall. I don't have many extracurricular activities as well. Should I fill out an application nonetheless?

Are you going to be the first in family to go to college? If so, just write stellar essays and you may get matched.

Wait, what’s National College Math?

Sorry guys I meant *match.

Bump. Need more opinions.

I would. If you become a finalist and don’t get matched with a college during ED you get to resubmit your application through regular decision for free.

I don’t see much of a downside to applying. The cost savings if a finalist are substantial, and there is a boost from being a QB finalist. Some of the essay prompts are the same as ones on the Common App, so you are getting an early start on getting your essays done, plus it is good to get recommendations early when teachers are more likely to be able to spend more time writing them. The worst case scenario is even if not selected as a finalist you are well prepared for the rest of your college applications.
