Hi I’m a senior in high school, and I am currently taking AP computer science which is ruining my grades( currently have a D) . I have a 4.08 GPA overall a 32 on ACT and I do not want this class to bring it down right before college admissions. I have taken multiple APs previously(4 total my sophomore/junior year) and most of them were As with some Bs and taking 3 right now including computer science. I really want to be admitted into a UC ( preferably SB); will colleges prefer me to continue to challenge myself in the class? Or should I drop.
If you’re are applying to a UC, or any college for that matter, senior year is of little importance since the UC gpa is calculated from 10-11 grades. So it think it is really up to you to decide whether you want to continue to challenge yourself or switch to an easier schedule. However, if this is your first low grade of your entire high school career it might raise some eyebrows
