Should I drop my Choir for something else I enjoy?

Hi, I’m a rising junior, and I have a question about my schedule. I’m very passionate about writing and politics, and I even run my own blog. I want it to shine through more, and I’ve considered taking additional classes for it for junior year. However, it’s all filled up, and I was considering removing choir. I’m in JV Choir and I started as a sophomore, and I don’t have any major distinctions. I do have many friends in the class, so it would hurt them if I were to opt-out. Also, don’t colleges like to see more consistency rather than switching ECs? My goal is to get to Ivy, so will this hurt my chances?

Do you enjoy singing?
Are you taking Math, English, Science, Social Studies and Foreign Language?

You should take electives that you enjoy and think would be useful for you.
It is valid to say “I like hanging with my friends in Choir so I will continue”.
It is valid to say “I like singing even though I am not the best I will continue”.
It is valid to say “I really would like to explore Creative Writing so I will drop choir.”
But don’t take another class just because you think it will “look good” to a college.

Use HS to explore different things but don’t think you have to take 10 classes in your potential future major and the expense of other things.
