should I email NYU?

I transferred to an international school in the middle of 10th grade, and until then, I was attending a domestic school in my country, where I was not taught in english.
When i first started studying in 10th grade, my grades were low due to my english ability. But now, my grades have improved, and it shows an upward trend.

So, I didnt ask my counsellor to mention that I had a disadvantage over english when i first came to school, and now I started to think I want to tell them that I had reasons for getting low grades.

Do you think they will consider the fact that I had a disadvantage, or not even notice that I transferred to an international school?

I applied for 2017 fall semester, regular decision, and I really want to go to NYU.

Why did you not include that in your ‘additional information’ section of the Common App? I am not sure if you could do that at this point since you already passed the application deadline.

Should I email the school?

Not sure if it’s worth it at this stage. Maybe try calling NYU admissions and see what they think? I don’t know if they will take that negatively though.

They might take it negatively or require you to provide a TOEFL score (which I’m assuming you don’t have one). You probably want to ask your counselor if he/she have already submitted the secondary school report…
