any shot? and if so, should I apply EDII? i really like vandy and i'd definitely go if i luckily got in.

I think you should apply to Vandy as a reach, and really put yourself into your application at Vandy and put in the same sincere full effort at closer to match schools. Your ACT makes your application viable, so give it a shot! The adcoms understand how to put grades in context of the school…make sure your GC comments on average GPA because many Vandy admits have higher grades than yours.
Focus on what you have control over at this point. Essays and recommendations. Visualize your life at Vanderbilt and speak to it. Make sure they understand the kind of student you would be and what you would bring with you to campus to share with the community.
My sons of course had favorites/crushes on the college ap lists, but in all honestly they respected every college they applied to attend and could visualize themselves at each place. They put more effort in building ties to their match schools and tried to be realistic about the odds at reaches. The work is hard at all of the great colleges in the USA and the faculty is quite strong at most of them as well. “Attach to your match” colleges is the key to extracting the best experience out of college ap season. Don’t be intimidated by Vanderbilt. Be open-hearted and be strong. You are ready to do well in college and you will be successful and very happy somewhere next August. Good luck in the whole process and at Vandy in particular!

Thank you for your advice. Getting into college isn’t an issue at this point because I’ve been accepted into the University of Indiana which is one of my favorite schools, so there’s no pressure and I’m not expecting a good probability of getting in. My matches that I am applying to are Villanova and Miami (Villanova might even be a reach).

Anyways, I will apply to Vanderbilt even though chances aren’t high. Thank you.
