I am thinking about applying to Columbia College ED; I don't even know if I have a chance.

But I know that Columbia is all about diversity, so I'm hoping that will work in my favor.

I know someone at Columbia with an SAT score LOWER than 1600 (out of 2400) - SATs are not THAT important.

When I read your post’s title, I knew I was going to say yes regardless of grades, experiences, etc. But, I think you have a chance if you really focus on your experiences and what you could bring to Columbia, and also what you think Columbia can offer you that other schools can’t.

If you don’t apply, you will never know could have happened and will regret your decision for a long time. If you apply, you may not get in… but at least you tried :-)

Yes you should “bother” applying. I think you have a chance the way things are now, but if you get your SATs up to 1800+, you can have somewhat of a chance.
