AP Psych?? (idk if I could handle AP’s)
Based on your above schedule and grades, you could try taking APES and AP psychology. They’re both easier than AP Economics. You have to step up, sure, but you can prepare a bit ahead of time, check out the textbook over the summer, ask questions at the ejdbod class, prepare well and participate in class. It’ll be hard at first, and probably confusing, but give yourself a chance.
You have a 3.2 GPA… You’re definitely 'college material '! The fact many students at your school take AP’s doesn’t mean you can’t go to college. You may not go to the same colleges somebody them will, but there are 3,700 colleges in the US, and Virginia has an excellent higher education system.
What’s your SAT score?
Look into VCU, UMW, Longwood, CNU. James Madison would be a reach.
Run the npc on Emory and Henry, Virginia Wesleyan, Warren Wilson.
Are you a girl? Apply to Sweet Briar, Hollis, Salem, Agnes Scott.
If you’re lower income (45k/ year or less) apply to Berea (full tuition scholarship!)
Are you a boy? Apply to Wabash.
Lots of people out there get into college, and do well in college, without a single AP class. They aren’t required. So stop feeling like you’ve made some big mistake. If you do want to try a couple AP classes, ask your teachers what they recommend for you. They know you as a student, and they know the AP teachers.
Talk with your parents to get an idea of how much they can pay, and talk with your own guidance counselor to find out where students with grades like yours have been admitted in the past few years.
