I was wondering if I should try to get the Cambridge Diploma or not. My school offers it, but I would have to take seven Cambridge courses. This would mean I won’t be able to take other classes that I want, including APs. Is it worth it? Will it be beneficial for me on my applications?
Before I pitch in my two cents, I have a few questions. First, what are you interested in majoring in? Once that’s answered, will the Cambridge courses serve you better, or will the AP Classes be better for you? Which is more strenuous-AP or Cambridge (I’ve only taken APs, so I only know about those)? And for that last one, I would ask fellow students about more than the rigor-are the AP and Cambridge teachers friendly and easy to approach? (that was a big reason why I succeeded in APUSH and AP Seminar). In general, I would also say the number of courses don’t matter as much as the grades do. Do you think you’ll be able to do well in seven Cambridge courses, and are they related to the profession(s) you want to do in college?
