Should I go ED for Case Western?

I’m 90% sure about making Case Western my ED application. My EFC is only 3,625, money is quite a big deal for my family, and Case offers 100% need aid. I’m just out of reach stats-wise for it, which is why I figured going ED to boost my chances. Obviously, I might not make it still, but the percentages favor me slightly more.

The only other school I might regret this for would be Purdue (in-state), but as I’m applying to the very competitive computer science program, I’m doubtful about making it. To be honest, I doubt I would even like Purdue, I don’t really want to go in-state & I’m not really wanting to go to a big school, but the connection opportunities & education are obviously top-tier.

Stats:
1360 SAT Superscore (720 Eng, 640 Math)
3.7 UW, 4.6 W

Pros
-Meets 100% need-based aid and I’m poor lol
-Smaller/Mid-size colleges appeal to me seeing as I go to a large (4,000+) high school
-I don’t like Indiana
-Case is right on Lake Erie, and I LOVE water/fishing
-The “nerdy” reputation actually appeals to me, I’m slightly awkward

Cons
-I have a couple of friends going to Purdue, I know no one at Case, I’m worried about making friends
-The career opportunities/prestigious title of Purdue may outweigh my lackluster enthusiasm towards it
-Lower sports scene (Div. III), I love football/baseball
-More school spirit? I see Purdue everywhere, people are generally really proud of going there

Beware that Case’s version of 100% need and your version might differ. We’ve only had a few students from my high school apply there, but none have had it be their best offer even at 100%. Have you run their NPC? If not, run it before assuming they’ll match your EFC.

I don’t recall, but does their aid also include loans? Most schools do.

Have you been to the school? It could be worth it to visit. I’ve seen students come back in love and come back crossing it off their list.

If everything passes after those considerations, then go for it. It’s worth a try as it’s a good school.
