I took college classes for my last 2 years of high school in Georgia and I just graduated in may this year. I am currently at a Georgia college as a regular college student and will have 42 credits at the end of this semester. I planed to transfer to a different Georgia college that has my major of choice but about 10 or so of my credits will not apply to my major. This is fine because those were the college credits taken in high school when I was not paying for college on my own. I was on scholarship in high school so they paid my tuition and books. I won't be able to transfer to that college until fall 2015. there I would graduate with my major by spring or fall 2017. my other option is to go to an out of state college which i can go to this spring 2015 and stay there until I graduate but because the requirements for my major are different at that college than in Georgia colleges over 30 of my credits will not apply to my major and I would not graduate until fall 2018. in that college freshmen start taking major related classes starting the first semester but in Georgia colleges your first 2 years are spent taking core classes that everyone regardless of major takes which is why most of my credits don't apply to my major at the out of state college. I really like the out of state college because it is a completely different environment than living in Georgia mainly because it is up north meaning I would get to experience real snow during the winter.
I only have 2 close friends here in Georgia and I plan on visiting them every other weekend and they plan to visit me once a month which is about how often i see them normally anyway because we are at different colleges. I do not have a car though and relied completely on one of my friends to get around on weekends when we do stuff together or if I wanted to go out for food when I was tired of the food at my college. that is what I would miss about being in Georgia.
In the out of state school I would really like the change of scenery being in an entirely new place. I am at a small Georgia college now and that school is a large school. It is safer there with less crime and less ghetto people and hopefully a different culture than Atlanta's rap culture. I really want to experience something different but I am also a bit sad that most of my credits, while they do transfer, won't apply to my major there.
I should also mention I have already been accepted to the out of state college but Im still deciding whether I should accept my admission or just stay in Georgia and go to another school for one semester and then apply to the other college or just change my major entirely and stay in Georgia. Also the reason i am looking at this one Georgia college and an out of state college is because only that Georgia college has my major and that other state has my major. and If I don't get into the Georgia college I would have to go out of state anyway for my major. I have no idea what I could change my major to though and would have to reevaluate my entire life if I were to change it and stay in Georgia.

anyone?

What is the cost difference between the two? Are they both affordable?

Also, why can’t you change scenery after graduating?

the cost doesn’t matter to me because i have loans grants and scholarships. and I think it is easier to experience new things when in school because it forces me to meet new people and be out of the house. I was mainly wondering about the fact that if i stay in Georgia I would be 2 years in to completing my degree but in Iowa I would basically be starting over. and the pros and cons of each.
