Should I go with a business major if I want to work in the tech field?

I'm currently working part time doing IT related work while I am in college. I haven't really declared a major yet but I really need to do that soon. I've noticed that many of my older coworkers here don't have a major in computers. Many of them actually have business majors.

I'm wondering if it would be wise to just go ahead and get a degree in business administration and after I graduate attain some certifications in IT. Or would it be better to go for an Information Systems major which is a mix of business and computers. Some people have advised me not to go with an Information Systems major because it is very difficult to find a job with that major... I'm not sure. What do you guys think?

If I want to work in the tech field doing networking, IT work, etc would a business degree be the wrong way to go?

Try majoring in CIS or MIS. I would stick with the part time job to build further IT experience so that way you can put it as part of your resume if you want to move on to bigger things.
