Should I just switch to Business?

I'm currently in the major for Information systems . I decided to start of my education in a community college so I dont have to go through all the core classes in college and not even thinking over and making any right decisions i went for my Liberal Arts degree in Associates. I obviously realize now that it was a very bad choice but here's what happened next...

When I got to a four year college going for my Bachelors I knew what i wanted to do which was IS(B.S) and when it came down to taking classes for my degree I realized that I am really behind as in I cant even graduate on time. The reason why I'm feeling like this is because my Degree requirements sheet contains like 50 percent of Business courses and the rest are computer courses which got me thinking is the IS major relevant , in other words is it worth pursuing? There's only six programming classes in the degree which consist of C++,java and databases. Yes, I've looked into computer science but I'm really bad at math so that is not a choice for me. Now that I look at it I see more useless courses and only a few courses that actually have anything to do with the major itself.

It all comes down to me being extremely depressed and lost in what I want to do. I feel like there is no way I can turn back and fix certain mistakes but I also have two ways out which is struggling with IS or switching to Business Management & Finance (B.S) which after looking at I completed more of than my own IS degree.

I know that certificates are required for the IT field and I was wondering if i pursue a Business Degree will it suffice with certificates I get later on.

Some side notes is I'm a senior right now and in the situation Im in at the moment I need one more year to graduate if I keep going with the IS degree. When I looked in the BM&F degree I can be done with it in one more semester. I can't sleep or eat I fallen into a light depression , I just don't want to be jobless , I need to know what I'm getting into with the Business major. I have no one else to ask.

Thank You for the answers!

Not true at all. You most certainly can do it.
The rest of your question can be answered with simply “your call.”

Have you looked at the career fairs? Are people recruiting for the IS major or more for the BS major? That is your answer. Also, would you rather be doing business, Or would you rather end up more technical when all is said and done? Don’t be depressed. Seriously. I mean you are more than likely still super young and nothing world ending is happening. Its all how you look at it. You could be 31 and going back to get a whole different bachelors because your first one was pretty worthless…aka me…and I’m still enjoying every minute of it.

I’ve done two internships for the past 2 summers. Both of the employers didn’t even know information systems existed. They always asked me what kind of major was it. I’ve been reading threads about information systems in here for the past 2 weeks and the answers were always mixed, some say information systems is useless and how certificates and experience matters most.

If, alongside whatever major you choose, you take the CS courses in operating systems, networks, databases, and security, you should have a fairly strong foundation which should give you a greater ability to handle new technologies and difficult problems in IT work. However, these courses typically require the introductory CS sequence which may take a few semesters to complete.
