Should I major or minor in creative writing?

I have decided that I will definitely be majoring in social work. However, I also enjoy writing, and would like to either major or minor in creative writing. Based on the workload and time consumed by studying social work and/or creative writing, do you think it would be wiser to major or just minor in creative writing? Thank you!

I love creative writing as well :), but I’ve decided not to pursue it as a major in college–simply because many of the best writers did not study writing in college, and realistically speaking, writing will most probably be my side-job in the future =)

Don’t get me wrong–taking writing classes and being in workshop settings can be extremely helpful for your writing. But I think pursuing a more time demanding major that correlates directly to a job, like Social Work, while taking creative writing classes and then declaring it as a minor, would perhaps be the best idea.
