Should I report NHS to UPenn?

I was just accepted into NHS at my school. Is this worthy to report to UPenn? I already applied ED btw.

If it’s all you have, then ya. If you have other more notable awards already on your app, then no.

@pk1jk1 Congratulations on NHS. While nice, it’s not significant enough to warrant updating your application at any school but particularly not one like UPenn.

@preppedparent I have National AP Scholar and FIRST Robotics District Chairmen’s award (most prestigious award in FIRST Robotics). I don’t have anything else though, so I wonder if I should add this third honor.

It can’t hurt if you only have 2

@preppedparent Ok, should I submit it through the supplemental documents on the UPenn dashboard or should I email them?

This is what the upload materials says in case you were wondering:
Upload Materials
If you would like to update us with new information after your application has been submitted, you may do so here. Please note, this is for applicant updates only. All required application materials and recommendation letters must be submitted by school officials, recommenders, or through a testing agency. If you are submitting a portfolio, it must be submitted through the Edit Portfolio link above.

I’d use the Penn dashboard and follow the instructions to upload materials, Only email them if the upload doesn’t work. BTW, is there any chance you are assuming a leadership position in that org? If so, don’t forget to mention that as well.

ok thanks

The contrarian point of view; no, do not submit. Only send updates for major updates, like a national award. NHS or president of a school club or captain of the baseball team is not meaningful enough. Can you imagine if every applicant send in a minor update? AO’s would just be inundated with paper. You’ve done all that you can do at this point. Just sit tight.

Thank you @skieurope

Sorry to piggyback off this post - but should I report that I was awarded volunteer of the year at the hospital that I volunteer for? I wasn’t planning on reporting it but I’m still not quite sure. I have 3 other awards on my common app already (ap scholar, nhs, and a school award). Thank you @skieurope

@KateHBag Same answer. IMO, it’s not worth reporting.
