Should I retake Calculus 2 or take Calculus 3

I am currently a senior taking Calculus 2 at a community college through my high schools program and I can say I’m doing fine so far probably because we haven’t gotten into series yet. After this semester should I have any problem going straight to Multivariable Calculus considering how content can differ from school to school. Then compared to Calculus 2 how much worse is Calculus 3? I have heard it is much more conceptual but easier.

Community colleges teach curriculums that are generally ubiquitous at most colleges and universities so you should have no problem transitioning to multivariable.

There is very little variation between calc 1, calc 2, and calc 3 at one school compared to the same respective classes at another school. Topics might be shifted around a little bit at different schools, but not to the point that you wouldn’t be prepared for calc 3. I’m currently in calc 3, and so far it seems to be a little bit more conceptually abstract than calc 2, but the actual techniques and methods used for problem solving so far have really been much easier than calc 2.

If you are concerned, try the old calculus 2 exams from the university you will be attending to check your knowledge against what that university’s calculus 2 expectations are. For example, there are some here:
